Gentle Touch Animal Hospital in Denver provides pet vaccinations for dogs and cats of all ages. Vaccinating your pet is a simple, safe, and effective method to protect your pet from harmful disease.
Dogs and cats are both susceptible to veterinary diseases, but the same disease may not affect both dogs and cats. During your pet’s preventive care exam, we will discuss your pet’s lifestyle and assess their disease exposure risk. We follow the American Animal Hospital Association’s recommended vaccination guidelines to administer the appropriate vaccines for your pet.
Core vaccinations are recommended for all pets, but additional vaccinations are available to provide added protection based on your pet’s age and lifestyle.
Senior pet preventive exams are very important. As your pet ages, they are more likely to develop health problems. Identifying a disease or health concern in the early stages often makes treatment less complicated.
We recommend an annual review of your dog’s vaccinations and administer boosters when necessary. This ensures your pet will receive the maximum protection from their vaccinations. Core vaccines for dogs include:
Core vaccinations for cats provide protection against harmful and potentially deadly diseases. Both indoor and outdoor cats can benefit from vaccination, and we recommend the following core vaccinations:
- Rhinotracheitis virus
Puppy and Kitten
Puppies and kittens receive disease protection from their mothers while they are nursing. However, this protection is temporary. We recommend puppies and kittens begin a vaccination schedule at approximately 8 weeks of age.
Vaccinations for puppies and kittens require a series of vaccinations and boosters over several visits. This ensures your pet will benefit from the protection of the vaccination.
Vaccinations are a vital component to your pet’s preventive care program. Please contact us to schedule an appointment. We are available to answer any questions you may have regarding vaccinations for your pet.
