Raised in Vermont, Kaley was raised loving animals and working on farms She trained her own Alaskan Malamute - Husky mix puppy and two Maine Coone cats at 11 years old.
She was focused on having a career working with animals and her graduating credits were based on how to run a 501c3 Animal Rescue and Shelter. Her main goals in life were to help people and animals. Over the course of her childhood she learned she had a gift of connecting with animals, especially dogs and cats.
Many years later, after a career as a para-educator and behavioral interventionist for children, she started her career with animals as a Veterinary Receptionist and Assistant at an Emergency Veterinary Hospital. She had such a great learning experience becoming familiar with the health and nutrition of pets, to the care and love each person had for their pet. This was the initial start of her interest in one day becoming a Veterinary Behavior Technician. In search of further opportunities, Kaley, her partner Tim, and her two cats travelled across the country to Denver, Colorado. After settling in she started canvassing for ASPCA. This opened her up to learning more about dogs in Colorado and their tribulations, continuing to drive her motivation to help animals. She soon became a Certified Dog Trainer and Behavior Consultant.
Kaley spent 5 wonderful years learning and specializing in confidence building, trauma rehabilitation for rescues, all types of reactive dog behavior modifications and relationship building between human and dog. She’s still helping dogs and their humans train but she wanted to get back to her first goal as a Veterinary Behavior Technician. That’s where she found a new chapter at Gentle Touch Animal Hospital. With the help of Gentle Touch Animal Hospital, she plans to continue education while being a CSR and grow and strive towards Veterinarian Behavior Technician.
