To maximize the effectiveness of the behavioral consultation, we invite all of the family members to participate in the consult. Each behavioral consult appointment is approximately 1 hour in length, and our veterinary team will observe your pet and any pertinent information can be clarified. We will discuss the likely diagnosis and proposed treatment plan. Your pet’s treatment may require prescription medication. To ensure the safety of your pet, a complete physical exam and blood work is required before beginning anti-anxiety medications.
Generally, pet behavior only receives attention when it becomes a problem, and corrective treatments have been successful in cases such as:
- Aggression
- Anxiety
- Property destruction
- House soiling
